TOURISM WORLDWIDE

It may be for business, pleasure, vacation, holidays or for romantic honeymoons, or you may just want a quiet time for inspiration, it could even be for medical reasons or pilgrimage or simply for relaxation, whatever the reason, traveling has come to become part of us and our everyday life. We find ourselves making journeys from one place to another, either on a day's work or travel, a tour or an excursion. We all travel or go on one of these journeys for different reasons, but there are some who go on tour for just pleasure, leisure or recreation.

According to Wikipedia “tourism is travel predominantly for recreation or leisure purposes or the provision of services to support this leisure travel”. The World Tourism Organisation defines tourist as people who “travel to and stay in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year, for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited”.

Tourism has become a very important industry for a lot of countries and also a global leisure activity. A lot of income is known to be generable and generated from tourism. These come in various forms, which include, but not limited to the consumption of goods and services by tourist, taxes levied on the tourism industry, investment opportunities and also the enormous direct and indirect employment opportunities in the services associated with tourism. Some of these services include guiding tourist, transportation services with cruise ships, taxis or other local forms of transport, accommodation services which include hotels, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues, while other hospitality services in reservation areas, zoos, museums, monuments, cinemas and other resort centres are also provided.

A lot of people have always traveled to distant parts of the world to see great buildings or other work of art, to learn new languages, to experience new cultures, or to taste new cuisine.
Traveling the highways and byways of the earth's globe searching for new frontiers and cultures of the unknown is a never ending adventure, an adventure if carefully planed could lead to an enjoyable trip, self fulfillment and a refreshing and a reinvigorating experience.

The five senses of a human do not usually take too long to get bored with themselves, other people, their jobs, environment, activities, and any and every other thing they are used to. And the effects:- reduced productivity, depression, frustration, anger, health problems, broken marriages and relationships, and a loss of touch with the environment. A school of thoughts believes that, a lot of our problems could be averted, if people just took some time off their daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly routines and do something different, one that is enjoyable, self fulfilling and less tasking.

Nature has placed before us a lot of animals, things, sites, streams, rivers, mountains, water falls, plants to tickle our fancy, help us relax and keep us busy for a life time just admiring them.
Making the decision to travel is a difficult decision in itself, knowing where to go is another, preparing for such trips is a totally different matter altogether. When you are about to travel, a lot of things have to come into consideration and adequate arrangements put in place. Top among such consideration is knowing if you are legally allowed to travel in and out of a country, for example, American citizens are not allowed to travel to Cuba and other places considered unsafe; other consideration will include knowing flight schedules, hotel reservations and transportation. Nature has done it's part in providing us with enough things to appreciate, how we choose to appreciate them is entirely our business.
